IRCC conducted its third Express Entry draw this week on February 16, inviting 150 candidates in the agriculture and agri-food occupations category. Applicants needed a minimum CRS score of 437. Earlier draws this week included a general draw on February 13, where 1,490 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 535 received ITAs.

On February 14, 3,500 candidates were invited to a healthcare occupations draw with a minimum CRS score of 422. Additionally, a category-based selection draw on February 1 invited 7,000 candidates with strong French language proficiency.

Category-based selection, introduced in May 2023, involves six categories targeting specific attributes, including proficiency in the French language and occupation-based criteria such as healthcare, STEM professions, trades, transport, and agriculture and agri-food. Candidates eligible for Express Entry programs are considered for category-based selection, aligning with critical gaps in Canada’s labor force.
