Canada has carried out its first Express Entry invitation round specifically targeting transportation professionals under the category system introduced for 2026. The latest selection gives eligible workers in the transport sector another potential route toward Canadian permanent residence.

The tie-breaking rule does not mean that every candidate with a CRS score of 470 was automatically invited. Where several candidates had the same score, IRCC used the profile submission date and time to determine who would receive an invitation.

The August draw is the first Express Entry selection conducted under the updated Transport category.
IRCC had previously removed the Transport category from its category-based selection framework in February 2025. It was subsequently brought back into the system in February 2026, but with a substantially revised group of occupations.
