Details of the draw:
- Date of the draw: 4th July 2024
- Total ITAs issued: 1800
- CRS cutoff: 436
- Category: Trade Occupations (Version 1)
This draw marks the first category-based selection for trade occupations since December 2023, aligning with IRCC’s plan to allocate 5% of ITAs to this category for the year. Earlier in the week, on July 2nd, IRCC held a draw exclusively for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, inviting 920 individuals with a CRS score of 739 or higher.
Since May, IRCC has seen a rise in program-specific draws, particularly for PNP candidates, as part of efforts to manage and integrate temporary residents into permanent residency (PR) pathways. This approach supports IRCC’s objectives under the Immigration Levels Plan to meet annual targets for skilled worker categories while ensuring effective management of Canada’s temporary resident population.
