Canada’s immigration body, once more, showed immense interest in Francophone immigration by inviting 4,500 French-speaking candidates for a permanent resident visa in its recent Express Entry invitation round.
This mega-draw showcases the government’s continual efforts to encourage bilingualism across the country and preserve French-speaking communities beyond Quebec.

More Details of the Draw
IRCC issued 4,500 Invites to Apply (ITAs) under the French language proficiency category of Express Entry on October 6, 2025.
They required a minimum of a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of 432 and an online profile submission before June 13, 2025, at 7:07 p.m. UTC.
This draw is yet another milestone for Canada’s category-based selection process, whereby invitations are adjusted to meet the needs of the country’s demography and economy.
It is also the second Express Entry draw of the month, following the October 1st draw for the CEC category.

French-Speaking Candidates Take the Lead in 2025
This year proved especially good for candidates who speak French. The March 21 draw, which brought in 7,500 French-speaking applicants, is still the largest of the year for 2025.
By virtue of this new drawing, French-speaking candidates now constitute 30,000 of all ITAs issued during this year, significantly leading other categories.
The surge also coincides with Canada’s overall policy of boosting the number of Francophones outside of Quebec, as part of its multi-year settlement levels strategy. It’s a strategy of building bigger French-speaking communities throughout provinces like Ontario, Manitoba, and New Brunswick.

More Job Opportunities for Experts
IRCC statistics indicate bilingualism and work experience in a scarce specialty are growing determinants of selection for Express Entry.
If we are looking at qualified professionals with French-language capability, even at an intermediate level, there is a clear advantage of having a CRS scoring system, which awards additional points and preferential selection in select draws.
Beyond language-based draws, IRCC’s category-focused approach, targeting professionals in healthcare, education, and trades, continues to diversify Canada’s immigrant intake, aligning newcomers’ skills with the country’s labor market demands.
Future Directions and Prospects
Authorities expect the rest of 2025 to witness additional specialized draws for French-speaking individuals and other target groups. As 2026 targets for immigration are projected to increase, Canada’s Express Entry scheme is emerging as a key selection tool for talent driving national development. It is now ideal for potential applicants to enhance their profiles, particularly by upgrading their language skills, securing employment, or obtaining a provincial nomination, at their earliest possible opportunity to improve their prospects during future draws.
