2,549 Candidates Invited in Quebec's Latest Permanent Immigration Selection

Quebec has once again used its immigration system to target workers needed across key sectors of the provincial economy, issuing 2,549 invitations through the Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ) in its latest round of selections.

The invitations, announced on June 4, 2026, were distributed among candidates already living in Quebec and demonstrating strong qualifications in areas experiencing labour shortages. The province selected candidates from the Arrima bank of profiles, using criteria linked to education, work experience, French-language ability, and occupational demand.

The draw represents Quebec’s fifth PSTQ selection event this year and demonstrates the province’s continued preference for candidates who have already established connections to Quebec through studies, employment, or professional practice.

Quebec’s Immigration Strategy Remains Closely Linked to Labour Market Needs

The June PSTQ draw clearly reflects Quebec’s approach to immigration selection: prioritizing candidates who possess French-language skills, local educational credentials, and experience in occupations facing workforce shortages.

Healthcare professionals, teachers, engineers, technicians, skilled trades workers, and support staff once again emerged among the most sought-after candidates. As Quebec continues to face demographic and labour challenges, future PSTQ draws are expected to maintain a strong focus on applicants who can quickly integrate into the province’s economy and communities.
