Alberta has continued its 2026 immigration campaign by selecting more skilled workers through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). During six invitation rounds conducted between June 17 and June 29, the province invited 1,037 candidates to seek a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
The latest selections reflect Alberta’s workforce priorities, with invitations going to professionals in healthcare, technology, aviation, tourism, hospitality, and skilled trades. The draws also demonstrate the province’s growing focus on filling labour shortages through occupation-specific immigration pathways.

Province Mixes General and Sector-Focused Draws

What the Latest Draws Mean for Candidates
The June invitation rounds reinforce Alberta’s preference for selecting candidates whose occupations directly support the province’s economic priorities. Alongside broad pathways such as the Alberta Opportunity Stream, occupation-based draws are becoming an increasingly important part of the province’s immigration strategy.
With thousands of nomination spaces still available for 2026 and a large pool of prospective immigrants waiting for future selections, Alberta is expected to continue holding regular draws throughout the remainder of the year, particularly for sectors experiencing persistent labour shortages.
