From July 3 to July 15, 2026, Alberta organized six invitation rounds under different immigration pathways. These draws formed part of the province’s ongoing strategy to attract qualified workers capable of supporting business growth and strengthening essential public services.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for the largest portion of invitations, while specialized pathways focused on occupations that remain difficult for employers to fill through the local labour market.

Alberta Prioritizes Occupations Facing Labour Shortages

Alberta has made substantial progress in utilizing its annual nomination quota.
By July 15, 2026, the province had approved 3,582 nominations from its overall allocation of 6,403 nomination spaces, leaving several thousand nomination opportunities available for the remainder of the year.
