Manitoba Invites 104 Skilled Worker Candidates in New PNP Draw

Manitoba has begun June with another round of immigration invitations, continuing its efforts to attract skilled workers who have already established links to the province through recruitment and community-based initiatives.

The latest selection round, held on June 4, 2026, saw more than one hundred candidates move one step closer to Canadian permanent residence. Rather than focusing on broad candidate pools, the province concentrated on individuals who had previously been identified through Manitoba-supported recruitment activities and workforce programs.

The draw highlights Manitoba’s ongoing strategy of connecting immigration selection with labour market demands, employer needs, and community development objectives.

Recruitment Initiatives Continue to Shape Manitoba’s Immigration Strategy

A key feature of Manitoba’s immigration system is its use of strategic recruitment initiatives. These programs allow the province to identify potential newcomers who possess skills that align with economic priorities and workforce shortages.

In the latest draw, 104 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued through the Skilled Worker Stream. Invitations were distributed among candidates in both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways.

To qualify, candidates had to indicate in their Expression of Interest profile that they had received a valid invitation through a recognized recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.

Where the Invitations Went

Employer-linked candidates represented the largest group selected in this draw, demonstrating the province’s continued focus on filling vacancies through immigration.

The distribution of invitations across recruitment initiatives was as follows:

Strategic recruitment initiativeLAAs issued
Employer Services40
Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP)39
Francophone Community17
Ethnocultural Communities6
Regional Communities2

Together, Employer Services and the Temporary Public Policy stream accounted for nearly four-fifths of all invitations issued in this round.

Express Entry Candidates Receive Additional Opportunities

Although the draw primarily focused on Manitoba-linked applicants, candidates with federal Express Entry profiles were also among those selected.

Fifteen invitations were issued to individuals who had provided both a valid Express Entry profile number and a Job Seeker Validation Code. These candidates may benefit from faster immigration processing if they eventually secure a provincial nomination connected to the federal system.

Common Reasons Candidates May Have Been Missed

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program emphasized that meeting general draw requirements does not automatically guarantee an invitation.

Some candidates may have been excluded because of incomplete or outdated information in their Expression of Interest profiles. Missing language test details, expired test scores, invalid identification numbers, or incorrect recruitment invitation references can all affect eligibility during the selection process.

The province also noted that certain applicants who received support under the Temporary Public Policy may still be waiting for consideration. Manitoba is currently processing individuals whose Manitoba Support Letters received approval before June 30, 2025, before expanding invitations to later approvals.

Invitation Numbers Continue to Grow in 2026

Following the June draw, Manitoba’s total number of invitations issued this year has reached 1,709.

All invitations released so far in 2026 have come through the Skilled Worker Stream, reflecting the province’s focus on attracting workers who can immediately contribute to Manitoba’s economy.

Manitoba’s Immigration Outlook for the Rest of the Year

The June selection round reinforces Manitoba’s preference for candidates who already have meaningful ties to the province through employers, communities, or recruitment programs. With thousands of nomination spaces still available under its federal allocation, further invitation rounds are expected throughout 2026.

As labour shortages continue to affect multiple sectors, Manitoba appears committed to using targeted immigration pathways to attract workers who can support economic growth while strengthening communities across the province.
