Manitoba Invites 766 Candidates in Targeted PNP Draw for Manufacturing, Utilities and Skilled Workers

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited 766 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its latest selection round.

Held on July 30, 2026, the selection was the province’s EOI Draw #276 and focused largely on workers already employed in Manitoba. Manufacturing and utilities workers received the largest share of invitations, while additional candidates were selected from targeted occupations, Francophone communities and strategic recruitment initiatives.

The latest draw highlights Manitoba’s continued use of targeted immigration selections to address specific labour market and community needs.

The 766 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued across four categories:

The manufacturing and utilities category accounted for 605 invitations, making it the dominant selection group in this draw.

Manufacturing and Utilities Workers Lead the Selection

Manitoba’s largest selection targeted candidates who were already employed in the province in occupations covered by Broad Occupational Category 9 under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.

The category includes employment across manufacturing, processing and utilities, covering positions such as:

Middle management roles in manufacturing and utilities
Supervisors in processing and manufacturing
Utilities operators and controllers
Machine operators and assemblers
Processing and manufacturing occupations
Labourers in processing, manufacturing and utilities
Central control and process operators
Aircraft assembly and inspection roles

The MPNP selected the highest-ranking eligible candidates in this category, with the draw recording a cut-off score of 632.

74 Candidates Selected From Targeted Occupations

Another 74 candidates received invitations under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway based on employment in specific qualifying occupations.

The targeted occupations included:

Aerospace engineers
Air pilots, flight engineers and flying instructors
Aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors
Aircraft instrument, electrical and avionics mechanics, technicians and inspectors
Aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors
Facility operation and maintenance managers
General practitioners and family physicians

The selection covered professionals working across aviation, aerospace, healthcare and facility management.

Francophone Candidates Receive 17 Invitations

Manitoba also issued 17 LAAs to Francophone candidates.

Applicants selected under this category needed to have indicated French as their language of communication with Manitoba in their EOI profiles and hold valid French-language test results.

The selection provides another opportunity for eligible French-speaking candidates seeking to establish themselves in Manitoba.

Strategic Recruitment Initiatives Account for 70 Invitations

The MPNP issued an additional 70 invitations to candidates connected to strategic recruitment initiatives under the Skilled Worker Stream.

Candidates considered in this selection needed to have declared an eligible invitation through a strategic recruitment initiative or the applicable temporary public policy in their EOI profile.

94 Invitees Had Express Entry Profiles

Of the 766 candidates invited in the draw, 94 had declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.

For eligible candidates, a provincial nomination through an Express Entry-linked pathway can provide a substantial CRS boost and improve their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

However, candidates must still meet the requirements of both the relevant provincial program and Canada’s federal immigration process.

Why Some Eligible Candidates May Not Have Been Invited

The MPNP noted that meeting the apparent requirements of a selection category does not automatically guarantee an invitation.

Candidates may have been excluded if their language test identification number was missing, invalid or linked to results that had expired by the date of the draw.

Those claiming participation in a strategic recruitment initiative also needed to provide a valid invitation number. Incorrect or missing information could prevent an otherwise eligible candidate from being selected.

Applicants should therefore ensure that their EOI profiles contain accurate and up-to-date information before future MPNP selections.

Manitoba Reaches 4,822 Invitations in 2026

The July 30 draw was Manitoba’s 15th selection round of 2026, bringing the total number of invitations issued by the province this year to 4,822.

The latest results show that Manitoba continues to prioritize candidates based on specific workforce needs rather than relying solely on broad-based selections.

For prospective applicants, the draw reinforces the importance of reviewing their occupation, employment situation, language skills and eligibility for targeted provincial pathways. Workers already employed in Manitoba’s priority sectors may want to closely monitor future MPNP selections as the province continues to respond to its labour market requirements.
