Focus on Strategic Recruitment Initiatives
Unlike the other general draws, this round of ITAs was directed particularly at applicants filtered through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives. These initiatives are designed to address local labour shortages with qualified international talent.
LAAs by Recruitment Initiative
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | LAAs Issued |
| Employer Services | 6 |
| Francophone Community | 29 |
| Regional Communities | 31 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 11 |
Manitoba is attempting to create stronger communities one by one through focused programs, preserve cultural diversity, and facilitate economic development in labor-deficient areas.
Why Some Candidates May Not Have Been Selected
Even candidates with a score of 612 and above might not get an invitation. Usual causes, according to the MPNP, are:
- Providing a language test but failing to provide a valid test number, or providing old results.
- Claiming a strategic recruitment invitation on their profile, but not producing the valid invitation number.
- These mistakes point to the importance of being accurate while completing an Expression of Interest.
Understanding Strategic Recruitment in Manitoba
Strategic Recruitment programs are partnership-funded programs sponsored by Manitoba employers and community groups. They are intended to identify persons with skills in short supply but unavailable in the local labor pool.
Recruitment programs require employers to implement Manitoba’s official ABC Recruitment Process, such as displaying genuine hiring requirements, ensuring vacancies are in provincial standards, and submitting international candidate data to Employer Services.
For candidates, the qualifying is on a combination of factors such as education, work experience, age, and language proficiency, and meeting the needs related to the specific initiative they are invited to.
Manitoba’s Current Immigration Commitment
With draws throughout in 2025, Manitoba is still proving its intent to accept skilled immigrants who will hold the potential to strengthen its communities and economy. By giving priority to the eligible candidates through targeted visa programs, the province is ensuring newcomers not only fill posts but are settling in communities that will gain the most from them, while balancing the labour market needs of the province.
