IRCC continues to invite Express Entry candidates for the third consecutive day, on 6th July 2023.
In yet another round of invitations, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has extended invitations to Express Entry candidates for the third day in a row. Today’s invitations were specifically targeted toward candidates eligible for category-based selection in healthcare occupations, with a total of 1,500 candidates receiving invitations. This draw had the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 463, marking the lowest CRS score seen in any Express Entry round of invitations issued in 2023.
The healthcare category draw was anticipated, as IRCC had confirmed last week that a round of invitations would be conducted this week specifically for 1,500 healthcare workers. This followed the first-ever category-based draw on June 28th, in which 500 healthcare workers with a minimum CRS score of 476 received Invitations to Apply (ITAs).
These recent draws follow the previous invitations issued to candidates in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions on July 5th. In yesterday’s round of invitations, 500 STEM candidates with a minimum CRS score of 486 received ITAs.
In a surprising turn, on July 4th, IRCC invited 700 candidates in an all-program draw with a minimum CRS score of 511. All program draws consider candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
The healthcare category holds the largest number of eligible occupations among the six new categories introduced. In total, there are 35 eligible healthcare occupations that fall under the category-based selection.
The continuous invitation rounds highlight IRCC’s commitment to addressing Canada’s labor market needs and prioritizing candidates with expertise in key sectors such as healthcare and STEM professions. These draws provide valuable opportunities for eligible candidates to apply for permanent residence and contribute their skills and knowledge to Canada’s thriving economy and essential industries.
