Manitoba has continued its steady immigration efforts by selecting another group of skilled foreign workers for provincial nomination, reinforcing the province’s long-term strategy of attracting talent to meet labour market demands.
In its latest immigration round conducted on July 2, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 77 eligible candidates to move forward with their provincial nomination applications. The selection was not based on a general Expression of Interest draw but instead focused on individuals who had already established connections with Manitoba through targeted recruitment initiatives.
The latest draw marks another step in Manitoba’s ongoing effort to connect employers with international professionals while supporting economic growth across the province.

Recruitment Initiatives Continue to Shape Manitoba’s Immigration Selections
Unlike traditional invitation rounds that primarily rank candidates according to their Expression of Interest scores, Manitoba continues to place significant emphasis on strategic recruitment.
This means candidates who had already been identified through provincial recruitment campaigns, employer partnerships, regional community programs, or previous government-supported initiatives received priority consideration.
Applicants selected in this draw belonged to one of the following immigration pathways:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
To qualify, candidates needed to confirm within their Expression of Interest profile that they had received an invitation through an approved Manitoba recruitment initiative.

Employer Partnerships Led the Latest Invitations
The distribution of invitations demonstrates how closely Manitoba’s immigration program remains aligned with employer needs.
Among the 77 invitations issued, employer-supported recruitment generated the highest number of successful candidates.
| Recruitment Initiative | Invitations |
| Employer Services | 36 |
| Temporary Public Policy (TPP) Support Letter Holders | 31 |
| Francophone Community Recruitment | 8 |
| Regional Community Initiatives | 2 |
| Total | 77 |
Employer Services represented nearly half of all invitations, highlighting the province’s continued reliance on businesses to identify skilled workers capable of filling labour shortages.
Express Entry Candidates Also Featured in the Draw
The latest selection was not limited to Manitoba-only applicants.
Among those invited were 15 candidates who maintained active Express Entry profiles and valid job seeker validation codes. These candidates may later benefit from enhanced provincial nomination pathways that strengthen their federal permanent residence applications.
Manitoba Warns Applicants About Common Profile Errors
The province also reminded prospective immigrants that meeting the basic eligibility requirements alone does not guarantee an invitation.
According to Manitoba, several administrative issues prevented some otherwise eligible candidates from being selected.
These included:
- Expired English or French language test results.
- Invalid or missing language test reference numbers.
- Missing invitation numbers connected to strategic recruitment initiatives.
- Incomplete information submitted through the Expression of Interest profile.
Keeping immigration profiles accurate and updated remains essential for future draws.
Special Processing Continues for TPP Candidates
One notable feature of Manitoba’s 2026 immigration strategy has been the continued processing of applicants who previously received Support Letters under the Temporary Public Policy (TPP).
Earlier this year, the province announced that these candidates would receive dedicated invitation rounds, beginning with individuals whose support letters had been approved between April and June 2025.
Since introducing this targeted approach, Manitoba has already invited 579 TPP candidates, with the majority receiving invitations during the first dedicated draw.
Provincial Immigration Activity Remains Strong Throughout 2026
The latest draw brings Manitoba’s total number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued this year to 1,910.
Meanwhile, the federal government allocated 6,239 provincial nominations to Manitoba for 2026, giving the province considerable capacity to continue selecting skilled workers over the coming months.
Provincial statistics also show that by the end of May, 2,165 individuals had already received provincial nominations, illustrating that Manitoba continues to process applications steadily throughout the year.

What This Means for Prospective Immigrants
Rather than relying exclusively on broad provincial draws, Manitoba is increasingly using targeted recruitment to select candidates who already have employment prospects, community connections, or other established ties to the province. This strategy allows immigration selections to better match labour market priorities while improving settlement outcomes for newcomers.
With thousands of nomination spaces still available under Manitoba’s 2026 allocation, additional invitation rounds are expected throughout the year. Skilled workers who qualify under Manitoba’s recruitment initiatives or employer-driven pathways may continue to find promising opportunities to pursue Canadian permanent residence through the MPNP.
