The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has made significant strides this week with its Express Entry draws, inviting candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
On September 20, the IRCC extended invitations to 1,000 candidates with expertise in transport occupations, marking the first-ever category-based selection draw for this group of Express Entry candidates. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) was set at 435 for this draw.
The move to target transport occupations in Express Entry draws comes in response to a pressing labor shortage within this sector. Minister of Transport, Pablo Rodriguez, emphasized the critical importance of the transportation sector to the Canadian economy.
