Details of the draw:
- Date of the draw: 31st May 2024
- ITAs issued: 3,000
- Category: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- CRS score: 522
This draw, the second of the week, is the first tailored for CEC candidates since September 14, 2021. It marks the onset of program-specific selections since the adoption of category-based selection in May 2023. IRCC’s focus on “domestic draws” aims to facilitate the transition of temporary residents to permanent residency, reducing the overall number of temporary residents in Canada.
Previous draws saw significant activity, including a specialized draw for STEM occupations. French proficiency is anticipated to be crucial in category-based selection draws in 2024. Express Entry manages Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), CEC, and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), evaluating candidates through the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Categories for specific work experience or language skills are expected to persist, though adjustments may arise in 2025.
