The biggest change is introducing a new Education category, which includes five occupations. Meanwhile, the Transport category has been removed. IRCC has also expanded the Healthcare category to include social service occupations, reinforcing the importance of these roles in Canada’s labor market.
For 2025, Express Entry will prioritize four key categories:
- French-language proficiency
- Healthcare and Social Services occupations
- Trades occupations
- Education occupations
Several existing categories have seen adjustments, with occupations added or removed across Healthcare, STEM, Trades, and Agriculture fields. These changes reflect Canada’s evolving workforce demands and its focus on addressing labor shortages in essential sectors.
