Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has completed its third Express Entry draw of the week, sharing 4,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to the eligible candidates showing high-level proficiency in the French language. This latest Express Entry draw proves Canada’s priority on selecting bilingual and French-speaking immigrants as a means of diversifying the country linguistically and culturally.

A Very Active Week for Express Entry

The selection of French-language works occurs immediately following two additional selections made earlier this week:

  • September 3, 2025: 1,000 ITAs issued via Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with a CRS of 534.
  • September 2, 2025: 249 ITAs released in the course of a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw that carried a CRS score of 772.

Express Entry Activity During 2025 to Date

The Canadian government has been frequently making use of the Express Entry throughout 2025. Thus far, 62,109 ITAs have been issued within the different categories.

Why Canada Favors French-Speaking Candidates

Canada’s immigration policy maintains a strong focus on attracting French-speaking individuals. This initiative aims to bolster minority Francophone populations throughout the provinces while simultaneously addressing labor deficiencies in areas where bilingual capabilities provide a competitive edge, including healthcare, public administration, and education.

Forecasts for the Remainder of 2025

With more than 62,000 invitations already sent this year, IRCC is on track for another record-breaking year of immigration through Express Entry. Candidates and other stakeholders expect more category-based draws, especially for healthcare workers and French speakers, as Canada matches immigration with its economic and regional needs.
