New Brunswick has continued its aggressive immigration strategy by issuing 669 invitations to prospective immigrants during a series of draws conducted on June 3 and June 4, 2026. The latest selections targeted individuals with skills and work experience that align with the province’s economic priorities, particularly in sectors facing persistent labour shortages.
The invitations were distributed through several immigration channels, including the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Together, these pathways support employers across the province while helping qualified foreign nationals move toward permanent residence in Canada.

Labour Market Needs Drive Provincial Selections
A review of the latest draw results shows that New Brunswick remains focused on attracting workers in industries where employers continue to struggle with recruitment. Occupations linked to healthcare, skilled trades, transportation, manufacturing, education, community services, and technology featured prominently throughout the invitation rounds.
Provincial officials concentrated much of their selection activity on candidates who are already contributing to New Brunswick’s workforce, as well as graduates and French-speaking applicants who can help strengthen the province’s long-term economic and demographic goals.
Skilled Worker Pathways Deliver Largest Share of Invitations
The province issued the highest number of invitations through its Skilled Worker Stream, selecting a total of 381 candidates.

| Pathway | Occupations Prioritized | Invitations Issued |
| New Brunswick Experience | Construction trades, Health care | 243 |
| New Brunswick Graduates | Education and community services, Construction trades, Health care, Transportation | 138 |
These selections represented the largest portion of invitations issued during the June draw series.

Focus on Workers Already Established in the Province
The New Brunswick Experience pathway supports foreign workers who have already gained employment with a provincial employer and accumulated qualifying work experience within the province.
Meanwhile, the New Brunswick Graduates pathway provides opportunities for international students who completed eligible studies in New Brunswick and have transitioned into the local labour market through full-time employment.
Francophone Immigration Continues to Gain Momentum
French-speaking newcomers remain an important part of New Brunswick’s immigration strategy. To support this objective, the province invited 146 candidates through two specialized Francophone-focused pathways.
Strategic Initiative Stream Results
| Pathway | Invitations Issued |
| New Brunswick Francophone Priorities | 94 |
| Francophone Workers in New Brunswick | 52 |
Candidates selected under these pathways came from a variety of occupational backgrounds, including healthcare, construction, education, transportation, manufacturing, sales, professional occupations, and information technology.
Why French-Speaking Candidates Matter
As Canada’s only officially bilingual province, New Brunswick actively seeks French-speaking immigrants who can contribute to communities across the province. These targeted pathways help strengthen Francophone populations while supporting employers in key industries.
Applicants selected through these streams typically demonstrate strong ties to New Brunswick through education, employment, recruitment initiatives, or direct engagement with provincial immigration authorities.
Express Entry Candidates Receive Additional Opportunities
The province also used its Express Entry Stream to invite candidates with existing connections to New Brunswick.
A June 4 selection round resulted in 75 invitations through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway.
Eligible occupations included:
- Healthcare
- Construction trades
- Transportation
- Manufacturing
- Information technology
- Education and community services
The pathway is intended for Express Entry candidates who have built significant employment and residency history within the province and are already contributing to the local economy.
Atlantic Immigration Program Supports Employer Recruitment
Beyond the provincial nominee program, New Brunswick also turned to the Atlantic Immigration Program to address workforce shortages.
The province selected 97 candidates through an Expression of Interest process, targeting individuals employed in occupations identified as critical to regional growth.
Occupation Groups Chosen Under AIP
The draw focused on candidates working in:
- Construction and skilled trades
- Healthcare services
- Manufacturing occupations
- Education and social services
- Sales and customer service roles
- Transportation occupations
- Information technology and professional careers
- Other trade-related positions
The selections highlight the province’s effort to provide employers with access to international talent when local recruitment efforts fall short.
AIP Remains an Important Route to Permanent Residence
The Atlantic Immigration Program continues to serve as one of the region’s key immigration tools. Unlike many traditional immigration pathways, the program is heavily employer-driven and requires candidates to secure employment from designated employers operating within Atlantic Canada.
Participating provinces include:
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland and Labrador
Candidates must meet federal and provincial eligibility requirements, including language ability, education standards, relevant work experience, and settlement criteria.

Healthcare and Trades Remain Top Priorities
One of the clearest trends from New Brunswick’s latest immigration activity is the continued demand for healthcare workers and skilled trades professionals. These occupations appeared repeatedly across nearly every immigration stream and pathway used during the June draws.
The province’s emphasis on these sectors reflects ongoing workforce shortages that are affecting economic growth, infrastructure projects, healthcare delivery, and community development.
Strong Immigration Activity Signals Ongoing Opportunities
The latest draw results suggest that New Brunswick will continue using targeted immigration programs to attract workers with in-demand skills throughout 2026. Individuals with provincial work experience, educational credentials from New Brunswick institutions, or French-language proficiency appear particularly well positioned to benefit from future selection rounds.
With 669 invitations issued over two days, the province is demonstrating its commitment to using immigration as a key solution to labour shortages while supporting long-term population and economic growth objectives.
