On October 8, 2024, Ontario conducted its first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the month, inviting 1,728 candidates under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream.

The draw was divided into three categories, each targeting different groups of candidates based on their skills and qualifications.
- Skilled Trades Occupations: A total of 885 invitations were issued to candidates with a score of 48 or above, specifically targeting skilled trades professionals. The draw aimed at filling labor shortages in critical trades such as construction, engineering, and technical services.
- Other Priority Occupations: An additional 841 invitations were issued to candidates scoring 52 or above, focusing on other high-demand occupations like accounting, marketing, management, and engineering. This group represents individuals with diverse professional expertise, supporting Ontario’s broader economic needs.
- Economic Mobility Pathways Project (EMPP): A smaller sub-draw issued 2 invitations to EMPP candidates, which supports individuals from refugee backgrounds with specific job offers.
This draw highlights Ontario’s ongoing commitment to attracting skilled foreign workers and addressing labor shortages in various industries. By targeting specific occupations, the province ensures that those invited are aligned with Ontario’s labor market priorities.
