Manitoba has opened another opportunity for skilled workers seeking a route toward Canadian permanent residence through its provincial immigration program.
In its latest selection round on September 24, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 474 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). Most invitations were directed toward workers in science, engineering, architecture, and information technology.
Alongside these occupations, Manitoba also selected a family physician, French-speaking applicants, and candidates connected with targeted recruitment initiatives.

STEM Professionals Dominate the Latest Manitoba Selection
The largest group selected in the draw consisted of 417 workers employed in natural sciences, engineering, architecture and IT-related occupations.
Immigration Canada considered these candidates through an occupation-focused selection under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway. Their declared employment had to fall within the occupational areas targeted by the province.
The eligible occupational categories included several types of professional, technical, and management-level positions associated with science and applied technology.
Under Canada’s National Occupational Classification framework, the targeted areas included:
- Professional roles in natural and applied sciences;
- Management positions within engineering, architecture, science and information systems; and
- Technical occupations associated with natural and applied sciences.
The minimum score for this group was 760.

Healthcare and French-Language Candidates Also Selected
Manitoba’s latest draw was not limited to STEM occupations.
The province selected one general practitioner or family physician under its healthcare-related occupational selection. The successful candidate had to have reported current employment under NOC 31102 in their Expression of Interest profile.
A further 16 candidates were invited through the Francophone selection. Applicants in this group needed to identify French as their communication language with the MPNP and demonstrate their French ability through an approved language test.
These selections indicate that Manitoba is continuing to use specific candidate characteristics and workforce requirements when deciding who receives an invitation.
40 Candidates Chosen Through Strategic Recruitment
Another part of the September 24 draw focused on applicants connected with Manitoba’s strategic recruitment activities.
The province issued 40 LAAs through the Skilled Worker Stream for candidates located in Manitoba or overseas. These invitations were distributed among several recruitment initiatives.

Potential Work Permit Support After Nomination

After receiving a nomination, qualifying applicants may be able to request a work permit support letter from Manitoba. This can be used as part of an application for a work permit with the federal government.
