Seventh Draw Within a Month
This is the seventh September Express Entry draw this year, and it is among this year’s busiest months of Canada’s immigration system. September has been a spectacular month, which saw several program-specific and category-based draws, such as skilled trades-based draws, education-based candidate draws, French-speaking candidate draws, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and several PNP draws.
September’s seven draws have produced more than 10,000 invitations in all streams combined.

Why Provinces are Center Stage
The constant attention to the Provincial Nominee Program is a testament to how much provinces and territories matter to the Canadian immigration landscape. By directly sponsoring skilled workers themselves, provinces are also able to fill regional labor gaps, and nominees are compensated with superior CRS scores that set them up to be highly likely to receive an ITA.
What Is Next
Having already issued over 65,000 invitations this year alone, Canada is set to hit its immigration targets of 2025. The government plan is yet again two-fold: meeting countrywide labor needs as well as putting provinces and territories in a position to access skilled workers that they seek.
Subsequent rounds will once again alternate between occupation-based rounds and PNP-Specialized picks, and a safe bet will be extra emphasis on French-speaking applicants and foreign workers in healthcare, teaching, and trades.
